Story:
Sleeps breathing was heavy, relentless. His hooves pounded the hard ground as they flew across the course, every now and again leaping a jump before the endless running started again. From Field to to field they ran, never letting up. Kiara could already feel the trophy in her hands. Sleeps long, muscly legs ate up the ground without a thought, and the jumps fer mere dots on their radar.
They were gonna get record breaking time, it seemed. Flat ground was easy.
Of course, it wasn't going to be quite so simple though. Between the open fields and the finish line on the beach, a small, wet grove lay in wait. They fly into it at first, with the ground softening, and the grass turning to dirt. Leaves attempted to slap Kiara off Sleeps back, but she refused to fall.
The light became distorted in the grove, and all to soon the rocks were on them. Or rather, they were on the rocks, literally. Sleep springs to the side, snorting as his hooves clip the stones harshly. He stalls, coming to a halt as he stares at the threatening rock.
White tape leaves them across the rocks, so Kiara leads Sleep in that direction, but the going is slow as they try not to slip while maneuvering the intruders. The rocks thin enough for Kiara to kick Sleep into a trot, and after a few more meters, she braves a slow canter. They leap a small stream and slip up a steep embankment, breaking out onto the sandy dunes of the beach. They tumble through the sand, Kiara now feeling the time slipping. She kicks him into a flat gallop when they reach the wet sand. The finish line isn't far, and she's determined to finish the fastest.
